Trust
Your rights, your record, yours alone.
Privacy is the product. Below is what we commit to, in the language we are prepared to be held to.
The Trust Charter
Ten commitments. In writing. On publication the Charter is incorporated into our Terms of Service, contractually enforceable by every user, not a marketing page. Three commitments are designated non-amendable.
Your recordings belong to you: sole ownership, full export, and deletion from our systems on request. Copies in your own Drive stay under your control.
Non-amendableFree protection, forever. SOS Mode is never paywalled.
Encrypted in transit and at rest. Where we have to process a stream, such as live transcription, we say so instead of pretending we cannot see it.
We never sell your data, including “anonymized” behavioral data.
Non-amendableNo back doors for insurers, employers or partners. They get adoption numbers, never you.
Law-enforcement access requires your consent or valid legal process. We notify you wherever the law permits it, and we challenge overreach.
Minimum collection, with a “what we have” screen and a delete button for every category.
We never become what we guard against. No facial recognition. No crowd surveillance.
Non-amendableRadical transparency: twice-yearly reports, published audits, a warrant canary, 72-hour breach notice.
Accountability you can hold us to: a Trust Council, 90-day change control, and a commitment to delete user data rather than transfer it if we are ever acquired.
Target publication ahead of our first city launch events, following counsel review of the Terms incorporation language, jurisdiction review of the notification and warrant-canary provisions, technical verification that every claim matches shipped code, and appointment of the Trust Council.
Privacy
What we collect, and where it goes.
We collect: Google account basics for sign-in (name, email, profile photo), the emergency contacts you designate, incident metadata (event type, time, location), and AI assistant queries plus usage analytics.
We do not sell your data. Data is shared only with the contacts you choose, the Google services you connect, legal support at your request, our infrastructure providers, or in response to valid legal process.
Your recordings go to your Drive. Recordings, transcripts and AI summaries save to your own Google account. Deleting your MyGuardian™ account removes your data from our live systems, and copies held in backups age out with those backups; what is already in your Drive stays under your control until you delete it there.
Full privacy policy and terms are published in the app and at the Support Center ↗. You must be 18 or older to use MyGuardian™.
Security
Where we stand, stated plainly.
Live today
Encrypted in transit and encrypted at rest. Streams are encrypted between your device and the Guardians you chose. Per-file and per-frame SHA-256 hashing. Automatic PII detection for faces, plates and addresses before public sharing. Live transcription is processed on our infrastructure, which means that stream is decrypted for processing, and we say so rather than calling the whole product end-to-end encrypted.
Scheduled
Manual penetration testing, automated testing and audit begin once the defect backlog is at low priority. Formal security review and SOC 2 follow in Q4 2026. We will publish the result either way.
Working on it now
Two questions are with counsel: handling in all-party consent states, and long-term evidence custody. We would rather tell you where we are while we are still working on it.
Know your rights
Recording consent, state by state
Select a state. This is general reference information about recording private conversations. It is not legal advice, and it is not the same thing as the jurisdiction layer we are building into the app.
Pick a state
Recording consent reference
Hover, tap or tab to any state to see how its consent rule is generally understood, plus how it treats recording on-duty law enforcement.
Courts have broadly recognized a First Amendment right to record on-duty officers performing their duties in public, and consent statutes generally do not reach conversations with no reasonable expectation of privacy. Laws change. Confirm with counsel.
Where we draw the line on AI
Legal information. Never legal advice.
We hold the line the FTC drew in its 2025 DoNotPay order. The rights assistant ships labeled as attorney-reviewed information, and the jurisdiction-aware layer that answers “what are my rights right here” is in build. MyGuardian™ Inc. is not a law firm and no attorney-client relationship is created by using it.
The premium attorney hotline will connect you to independent attorneys. They are not employed by, and not vetted by, MyGuardian™.
A camera in your hand protects officers too
Nearly all encounters are calm and professional, and evidence is how that shows. The bridge programs we run with law enforcement, their organizations and their leaders start from exactly that premise: everyone is safer when tamper-evident evidence is easy to find.
For everyone, on every side
The product protects everyone’s rights. We are pro-transparency and pro-officer at the same time, and we keep advocacy in a separate entity, the Goldbridge Institute, so MyGuardian™ stays welcome everywhere.
Steady when it matters
When a high-profile incident happens, we offer facts and rights education. That is the whole of it. The people in the story keep their dignity, and protecting it matters more to us than any coverage we might get.
Protect Rights. Save Lives.
