About
We shipped.
MyGuardian™ has been in business for a year. We invented decentralized video capture, built a first version in December 2025, filed a provisional patent on the invention in March 2026, and then in April 2026 threw that first version away and rebuilt the whole product on what it had taught us. Ninety-four days later Apple approved it, and it was live on both platforms.
How we got here
December 2025: the first build
A working prototype of decentralized video capture, the idea that the person holding the phone keeps the record. It proved the concept and showed us its own limits. Its version numbering carries forward into the shipping app, which is why the store shows 2.18.x on a codebase begun in April.
March 2026: the invention goes on the record
Provisional patent filed March 23, 2026 on decentralized video capture, ahead of a single line of the current build.
April 18: the rebuild begins
The December prototype had taught us what the product actually needed to be, and it could not get there. So we started again. We chose Capacitor over a Flutter rewrite, and that call was validated in July when Apple accepted the build.
May 4: first TestFlight build
It ran on the first try. Nine days later TestFlight opened to the whole team and a rotating group of volunteer testers who filed, refiled and closed hundreds of issues.
July 14: Google Play, production
Public. Thirty-six people had gathered on a call five days earlier, expecting it. It took until the 14th.
July 21: Apple approves
Apple returned the first submission on July 15. Every point was answered, the appeal was written, build 2.18.144 was resubmitted on July 20, and we were approved on the 21st. Live on both platforms.
The mission
Protect Rights. Save Lives.
One human truth sits under everything we build: in the moments that matter most, being seen and heard changes what happens next. The person on the side of the road, and the officer walking up to the window.
Every execution of that idea is the same moment: a traffic stop, an immigration encounter, a workplace incident, a protest. The app becomes the calm, steady witness. The download is the pledge.
MyGuardian™ is a bridge. It protects everyone’s rights, including those of the officer on the other side of the camera, and it works the same way for you whoever you are, wherever you are from and whatever language you speak.
Why the free layer is funded, not donated
Mobile Justice was carried as a program, and when the program ended the tool ended with it. We are building safety infrastructure with a premium tier, enterprise licensing and an insurance channel sitting above a free floor, so the free floor pays for itself and lasts as long as people need it.
Structure
Four organizations, one mission
MyGuardian™ is built to serve everyone who uses it, so it stays welcome in every community and on every side. Advocacy and charitable work each have a home of their own, and the app stays exactly what it is: a companion.
